Ushering In The New Season
The wait is finally over, the Autumnal Equinox has officially passed and thus begins the first full week of Fall! For all who favor the colder months, and the simple, cozier pleasures that this season brings, this is certainly a time for celebration. Perhaps, still depending on the weather, we can begin wearing our knee high boots and knit jumpers without a passing glance of judgment? Still likely not, but we can hope and dream.
For many cultures all over the world for centuries, the turning of this season marks the time of harvest. It is the time in the world’s natural cycle to gather and reap the bounties of hard work and growth from the summer months to then put to good use during the colder seasons. While many of us may not be agriculturally savvy or partake in that important line of work, this time of harvest can also be interpreted as a spiritual or emotional gathering. Take this opportunity to reflect on your accomplishments and experiences gained from the year so far. Gather them up neat and tidy, wrapped in a bow if you’d like, and hold them. These will become your yarns to spin, if only to yourself, as nature enters its twilight.
Perhaps you may feel your spring and summer seasons weren’t as positive or productive as you had hoped? Sometimes your harvest isn’t as bountiful and as colorful as those in the past, but just like you, nature has its ups and downs. We can’t always be expected to be at the peak of our growth cycle all year. We all grow and blossom at different times and at different stages. This Autumn, we at Ele wish for you to indulge in whatever you have sowed recently, no matter how much or how little; to be patient and allow yourself to be a chrysanthemum rather than a summer daisy.
